Hear nationally renowned researcher and author Richard Rothstein discuss his new book “The Color Of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America” followed by a response by Chicago’s own Natalie Moore.
Join advocates in the fields of housing and education as we examine the troubling history and roots of our nation’s persistent racial segregation. We will explore ways that we can and must engage in cross-sector work to address the inequities in community and school investment that are rooted in Chicago’s history of housing segregation.
Books from Seminary Co-op Bookstore by both Richard Rothstein and Natalie Moore will be available for purchase and they will sign books at the event.
Richard Rothstein is a National Book Award, Non-Fiction finalist. He is a Research Associate of the Economic Policy Institute, a Fellow at the Thurgood Marshall Institute of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and Fellow of the Haas Institute at the University of California, Berkeley.
Natalie Moore is a WBEZ South Side Reporter covering segregation and inequality who is the author of “The South Side: A Protrait of Chicago and American Segregation.”
