Join the Smart Museum and the Poetry Foundation for a two-part journey and writing workshop that explores the ancient form of Japanese haibun poetry.
PART I
Tuesday, August 8, 6–8 pm

Part I includes a tour of Japanese landscape paintings at the Smart followed by a bike ride to the Japenese in Jackson Park. Please bring your own bike. A shuttle will also be available for those without bikes or with accessibility needs.
PART II
Tuesday, August 15, 6–8 pm
Poetry Foundation
61 W. Superior Street
Part II convenes at the Poetry Foundation for a reading, discussion, and poetry writing exercise where participants will compose original haibun describing our travels in Part I.
FREE, but space is limited. Participants are asked to attend both sessions
