Award-winning writer/director/producer Nefertite Nguvu presents her stirring debut feature film, In The Morning. The film charts the emotional anatomy of the lives, loves, infidelities, and enduring friendships of a group of inter-connected New Yorkers over the course of one day. Winner of the Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the Urban World Film Festival in New York, In The Morning delves into the emotional landscape of contemporary black life in a way rarely seen in modern cinema. Photographed by cinematographer Arthur Jafa (Daughters Of The Dust, Crooklyn).
Nefertite Nguvu (BFA, New York’s School of Visual Arts) has written, produced and directed two short films, a 10-part web series featuring Queen Latifah for Cover Girl and Flavor Unit Entertainment, a mini music documentary, as well as an 8-part web series entitled Black America Again featuring musician/actor Common for Universal Music and Freedom Road Productions.
