Apr 21st 2017

Transformative acts of change are made possible, in part, through accessible blueprints of the utopias we strive for. Any sustainable politics of dissent, is deeply indebted to disruptions of collective joy. Join us as we close each day of the Open Engagement 2017 – JUSTICE conference with celebrations co-hosted by femme-centric, queer-inclusive nightlife organizers from across Chicago.

Being a socially engaged artist can be exhausting. Standing on the frontlines of activist movements is often draining. Working for JUSTICE takes hard work, focus, and longstanding dedication. We’re here for all of this, and we’re also here for JOY. Join us for Party Noire Presents: JOY at the Stony Island Arts Bank on Friday, April 21st. With a performance by KC ORTIZ, music by Party Noire’s co-founder and DJ Rae Chardonnay, and additional Party Noire co-founders and hosts Nick Alder and Lauren Ash, this evening is sure to be your necessary release, turn up, and joyful connection with other Open Engagement attendees.
