Feb 8th 2017

Carron Little will be performing and opening a solo exhibition at Gallery A + D in collaboration with Ragdale Foundation on February 8. Little will be presenting poems she wrote in Lucerne, Switzerland inspired by eight women she interviewed between the ages of 21 to 91. The artwork in the exhibition is inspired by these phenomenal women and their lives.

The work addresses important questions for our time. For example questions such as what is it like to be an immigrant at the age of 5 in a foreign country? When you grow up mixed race in an all white community what responsibility do schools have to create a safe and respectful environment? What do we need to do for women who are in labor and how is our healthcare system listening to our concerns? What happens when you are exiled from family and home because of religious laws? All these questions are addressed through the contextual content of the poetry and artwork. The poetry and visual art will be presented at Gallery A + D from February 8 to March 8, 2017.
