Unfurling Hyde Park’s Longest Poem

The Hyde Park Art Center will have a room full of poetry! Indie City Writers is hosting an Unfurling Hyde Park’s Longest Poem event at HPAC. The 42-foot-long, Hyde Park-inspired poem will be on display, and Indie City Writers will host a reading from 2 to 3 p.m. Anyone is welcome to read a poem or short piece of prose, with a maximum reading time of five minutes. Hyde Park themes are encouraged but not required.
Hyde Park’s Longest Poem was created with the help of the community during the Hyde Park Farmer’s Market. It took over six hours and more than two dozen writers.
Indie City Writers is a writers collective that hosts live-lit, critiquing and prompt writing workshops, and expert author talks, with a goal of strengthening the unique community of writers on the South Side. For more information, email indiecitywriters@gmail.com.
