Animals in Ancient Art

@ Oriental Institute

Opening Tuesday, September 13th, from 2PM - 3PM

What kind of animals–both real and imagined–can we find in the ancient Near East? How did ancient artisans and artists incorporate animal motifs in their work? Stroll through our Egyptian and Persian galleries to find out how animals inspired minor arts, architectural building, and even mummification.

Enjoy a light-hearted gallery tour with a social component that allows for adult conversation where no one minds if a baby lends an opinion with a coo or a cry. Open for caregivers and their pre-toddler-age (18 months or younger) children.

Registration required.
