Co-presented with CHICAGO 8: Small Gauge Film Festival
We’ve invited 10 Chicago-area image makers to shoot a roll of Super 8 film and have it premiere tonight! All editing will be done in-camera and no one will be allowed to see their work prior to the screening. Artists include: Karen Johannesen, Irving Gamboa, Lorena Barrera Enciso, Amir George, Lorenzo Gattorna, Molly Hewitt, Lori Felker, A.J. McClenon, Emily Esperanza, KaSandra Faye Skistad. Rounding out the evening is a selection of work of longer pieces from Irving Gamboa and Karen Johannesen. Gamboa’s work has screened at various festivals worldwide, including Cannes, The Arizona Underground Film Festival, CUFF, and the Los Angeles Art House Film Festival. Johannesen’s work has screened worldwide, including at San Francisco Cinematheque, The Toronto International Film Festival, The Museum of Modern Art, and our very own Onion City Experimental Film + Video Festival. We want to thank Pro 8 in Los Angeles for donating film and processing.
