Bobby Zehnder: Closing Reception
@ Laura
1535 N Ashland, Chicago IL
Opening Saturday, July 9th, from 2PM - 5PM
On view through Saturday, July 9th
A solo exhibition featuring works by Bobby Zehnder—
Negligence to flossing leads to bleeding gums. Germ-filled plaque builds up between the teeth and causes inflammation and irritation. Blood gathers at the base of the tooth, creating a red zigzag at the gum-tooth threshold.
The individual is thrilled to project a narrative on this experience.
Sometimes it bleeds over my lip—I regularly romanticize this.
I am bleeding from the mouth. Have I been beaten in a fight? Am I a vampire?
Flossing is important!
The build-up is strong and you spit a string of blood into a static bath of creamy white and cool iridescent blue. The spiral of paste and iron in the sink shimmers back at you and dazzles the eye. This attraction to fantasy will lead to health issues at a later time in my life.
Please join us for the closing reception this Saturday, July 9th.
