Roots & Culture presents an artist talk by Bobbi Meier & Tegan Brace, moderated by the venerable Mike Andrews.

Tegan Brace is a visual artist from Indiana who has been living and working in Chicago since 2007. She received her BFA from Appalachian State University in 2007 and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2014. Upon graduation, Brace has inserted her swiftly crafted objects and installations into public and private spaces in the greater Chicago area. She has exhibited her work with Third Object, 2nd Floor Rear, ADDS Donna, and Acre.

Bobbi Meier is a Chicago-based visual artist working in a variety of media. Ambiguity is a primary consideration in her work as she explores implications of the body to question viewer perception. She earned her MA in Art Education (2000), and MFA in Fiber and Material Studies (2011) at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Recent exhibitions include: The Second Terrain Biennial (Oak Park, IL), Glass Curtain Gallery (Chicago), The Franklin (Chicago). She has been awarded residencies at: The Vermont Studio Center (Johnson,VT), Ragdale (Lake Forest, IL), Ox-Bow (Saugatuck, MI), Anderson Ranch (Snowmass, CO). She is currently a Hatch Projects Resident at the Chicago Artists Coalition.
