First Friday at the Flat Iron Arts Building – the Return of Around the Coyote!
Now in its fifth year in its new home in the Flat Iron Arts Building, Around the Coyote is a three day festival celebrating the art of Wicker Park! From September 4th to the 6th, 6-10 pm, come in and tour artist studios, enjoy live music and see performances by our fabulous theatre groups.
We have new tenants, Bizarre Bucktown – magic and walking tours of Wicker Park hosted by long time Second City teacher Gordon Meyer, and jewelry and design by Fibonature and Pyramid Sugar joining long standing residents Brainstorm Comics and Collaboraction Theatre Company. Over thirty visiting artists will be showing new work on the walls and studios of the tenant artists will be open for tours and shows. The Flat Iron Artists’ Association is a private, not-for-profit company dedicated to the promotion of the arts in the Wicker Park / Bucktown area.
The Flat Iron Artists Association is the sponsor of First Friday art shows in Wicker Park Bucktown. With the support of the WPB SSA#33 and sponsors, the Flat Iron Artists Association and the local artists have been a driving force to revitalize the tradition of art in Wicker Park Bucktown. The Flat Iron Arts Building is located at 1579 N Milwaukee Ave, on the corner of Damen/Milwaukee/North. We are publicly accessible by the Damen Blue Line stop, and the #56 Milwaukee/#72 North/#50 Damen busses. There is a nominal cover charge of five dollars at the door. Proceeds go to support the work of the Flat Iron Artists Association.
