Opening Friday, March 13th, from 6PM - 9:30PM
On view through Sunday, March 15th
Local Chicago artist, Jessica Taylor, is spearheading an art show unlike any you may have been to before. The event is called The Red Light and is an art show with works all themed around sex trafficking for the purpose of raising awareness and funds to fight against trafficking.
This show is both gripping and inspiring by nature. With paintings, sculptures and multimedia works all designed around the harsh realities of sex trafficking, the show is sure to be one that moves hearts. The content is heavy, but so is the fact that millions of individuals are trapped in slavery still today. Jessica believes that art is a powerful communicator and is passionate about using her abilities to reflect what she believes. In this case, that the evil of trafficking is something we can, and must, all take a stand against. Both nights, the show will feature performances by other local actors and musicians at 7:00 and 8:00pm.
Jessica grew up in the Chicago suburbs and is honored to be making a debut with her artwork in a gallery near home. She recently graduated from Grace College in Indiana with degrees in Drawing & Painting and Intercultural Studies. She was recently on display at Lonnie’s Arts Gallery in Morris, IL and is a resident artist at CLA in Arlington Heights. She is planning to move to Philadelphia shortly where she will further pursue her career in the arts.
