Michelle Bolinger: Containers for Places
@ Roman Susan
1224 West Loyola Avenue, Chicago, IL
Opening Friday, March 13th, from 6PM - 9PM
On view through Thursday, April 2nd
Containers for Places evokes playful curiosity through deliberate manipulations of color and surface. Bolinger layers shapes, lines and marks to build and disrupt pictorial illusion. Each painting is a unique dialogue, creating a place that words do not aptly describe.
Michelle Bolinger received an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Washington in 2005. She is an Instructor of Fine Arts at Loyola University, and her paintings are part of the permanent collections of Harold Washington College, King County Washington, and the University of Washington.
Additional works are featured in the concurrent group show Formal | Loose | Painting curated by Jennifer Murray at Ralph Arnold Gallery. Ralph Arnold is located two blocks south of Roman Susan on the Loyola University campus at 1131 West Sheridan Road.
