Angela Bryant: Inside the Exterior
@ Terrain Exhibitions
704 Highland Ave; Oak Park, IL. 60304
Opening Sunday, February 9th, from 1 PM - 4PM
On view through Wednesday, March 5th
Angela Bryant is fascinated with the unseen and the unexplainable. Interested in both the spiritual and the scientific, whether experienced through a dedicated belief system or the use of a microscope. Bryant’s artwork seeks to make visible the invisible. Using paint, newspaper, and plastic her work interrupts what is surface and exposes the mystical within the mundane.
Bryant received her MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the recipient of many awards including the Odyssey Travel Grant, an Art-in Architecture Public Art Commission at Western Illinois University and the Archibald Motley Award of Ragdale Artist Colony in Lake Forest, IL.
Bryant is also the founder of Abryant Gallery, an art consultation service and rotating contemporary art gallery focused on emerging artists. She is also the Director of Exhibitions for the O’Connor Art Gallery at Dominican University and the Director and co- founder of MOUNT Curatorial Residency at Design Cloud Gallery in Chicago, IL. Her work will be exhibited at the Chicago Cultural Center this spring in the exhibition Visceral Painting.
