Thad Kellstadt: Lazy Dreams
@ Cabin
1759 N. Humboldt Blvd. 2nd Floor, Chicago IL
Opening Saturday, March 23rd, from 7PM - 9PM
On view through Saturday, May 4th
Cabin is pleased to announce a new exhibition by Thad Kellstadt, Lazy Dreams, in which the artist has painted a brick pattern covering objects as well as the gallery walls.
Lazy Dreams is an immersive installation of painted brick pattern covering objects and the gallery walls. The work stands between meditative and overwhelming, mirroring the artist’s own dream experiences:
“I remember almost all of my dreams. They have been wild lately, from euphoric to horrific. This is not uncommon for dreams. The nightly phantasmagoria is well on its way to becoming the norm. This installation is a call to the dream world for a bit of peace. Through creating a space of mild dislocation I am hoping to trick my brain to chill out.”
Please join us for a reception with the artist on Saturday, March 23 from 7-9 pm.
