From the vantage point of a metaphoric effigy mound, artists, thinkers, and poets are asked to imagine our creative futures.
This year’s symposium welcomes Native curators to participate in conversations about their visions for the future of Native art.

Dave Spencer (Mississippi Chata, Diné), Director of Arts and Culture at the American Indian Center Chicago. Moderator: Tom Jones (Ho-Chunk), artist (photography), curator, writer, and educator.

Lois Taylor Biggs (White Earth Ojibwe, Cherokee), Rice Curatorial Fellow in Native American Art at the Art Institute of Chicago. Shandiin Brown (Navajo Nation Citizen), Henry Luce Curatorial Fellow for Native American Art at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Museum. Kalyn Fay Barnoski (Cherokee, Muscogee Creek), Artist and Assistant Curator of Native Art (former Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow of Native Art) at Philbrook Museum of Art. Moderator: Noelle Garcia (Klamath, Modoc and Paiute), multidisciplinary artist, and current CfNF artist-in-residence.

Keynote Speaker: Polly Nordstrand
Polly Nordstrand (Hopi) Former executive director of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture. Her previous experience includes curatorial positions at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Museum and Denver Art Museum.
