The Art on Cardboard Show
@ Bridgeport Art Center, Project Onward
1200 W 35th St, Chicago, IL 60609
Opening Friday, November 17th, from 6PM - 9PM
On view through Friday, December 1st
We’re thrilled to be teaming up again with the Birdhouse Museum for a treasured event celebrating creativity and community. For two decades, the Art on Cardboard Show has been uniting artists from across the city and around the globe under a central idea: Art doesn’t have to be expensive or exclusive to be cherished.
Everyone knows art supplies can be cost-prohibitive, and breaking into traditional galleries can seem impossible. This show was born out of frustration with those challenges so that artists of all abilities and backgrounds could have their work showcased. By championing a humble material that everyone can access – cardboard – we’re not just hosting a show; we’re constructing a more equitable art world, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
The best part about this show? YOU’RE invited to participate! As long as it’s drawn, painted, or sculpted from cardboard, it’s fair game to submit. Every artist will receive a gallery rate of 50% for their sales, or can also choose to generously donate proceeds to Project Onward.
This all-embracing gallery features the incredible works of Project Onward artists and anyone willing to think outside the box (pun intended) and participate! Whether you’re an artist or here to admire the corrugated creations, we hope you’ll join us! With prices starting at just $5 and nothing priced over $100, this is the perfect opportunity to find unique, budget-friendly gifts for the cool people in your life.
