Homecoming is an exhibition created by artists, Ronise Doss and William Baker alongside the help of their loved ones who have experienced incarceration. Homecoming transforms the typical American family home setting and ideals into a space that activates healing, understanding, hope, and community. This transformation is created with a collection of artworks documenting Black people’s experiences navigating the justice system disguised as home decor. Homecoming calls upon pop art and prison culture for an artistic engagement with architecture that encourages the viewer to challenge the security they know and wake up to the truth.
