Join us at Alma Arts and Interiors Gallery for a special Summer performance happening featuring an all-star lineup of dancers and musicians! This event is part of “Culture Flow – THE OCEAN BETWEEN VI, an International Art Symposium.” Special thanks to Marianna Buchwald and Kimberly Oliva.
Come and enjoy a unique performance experience surrounded by wonderful art in a great gallery space with food and refreshments. The performance features an amazing lineup of dancers and musicians, including Phaedra Darwish, Devika Dhir, Yasmeen, Emily Liggett-Brower, Becca Rose, Pugs Atomz, Olea Nova, Kao Ra Zen, Yuri Basho Lane, Azeema, Ife StormCrow, Hobbyist, and DJ Slim Gem.
Pugs Atomz is a Hip-Hop renaissance man whose art and music have been featured in TV shows, movies, commercials, sporting events, and video games.
Olea Nova is a multidisciplinary artist who has made a name for himself as an accomplished spoken-word poet, battle-rapper, multimedia performance artist, painter, director, and curator.
Kao Ra Zen is a young at heart old school MC who spits rhymes for the brave new world.
Yuri Basho Lane has mastered the art of beatboxing, blending it with harmonica to create a unique sound.
Azeema is Chicago’s Bollywood Bellydancer who performs a variety of modern, folkloric, and classical dance styles from the Middle East and South Asia.
Ife StormCrow is an experienced designer, playmaker, and storyteller.
Worood il Beledi, which means “Flowers or Roses of the Homeland/Country”, featuring Yasmeen, Emily, Becca Rose, and Devika will be performing all over Chicago and the suburbs this year in cultural festivals and events. Please check BellydanceByPhaedra.com for their upcoming adventures.
