An Evening of Poetry with Dina Elenbogen & Robert Manaster

Join us for a evening of poetry with authors Dina Elenbogen and Robert Manaster.

  • Dina Elenbogen is author of the poetry collections, Apples of the Earth, Shore, and the memoir, Drawn from Water: an American poet, an Ethiopian Family, an Israeli Story.  She has received fellowships from the Illinois Arts Council and the Ragdale Foundation and her work has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies. In a review of her work, writer Faisal Mohyuddin said the her poems bear witness “both to the suffering and loss in our world, but also to the healing power of family, faith, community, nature, and, most profoundly, words.”
  • Robert Manaster‘s poetry has appeared in numerous journals including Birmingham Poetry Review, Image, Maine Review, Rhino, and Spillway. His co-translations have appeared in journals including Poet Lore, The Virginia Quarterly Review, and Hayden’s Ferry Review. His co-translation of Ronny Someck’s The Milk Underground was awarded the Cliff Becker Book Prize in Translation. He also co-translated a book of Yossel Birstein’s flash fiction stories, And So is the Bus, Jerusalem Stories. He’s a member of the Glass Room Poets, based in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois.
