CLEAT Series: JoVia Armstrong’s Eunoia Society

Eunoia Society will perform a multichannel show at the University of California’s xMPL Theater creating an immersive experience for two audiences simultaneously. Joining us live in Chicago will be Corey Wilkes on trumpet and a special guest on turntables at Elastic Arts, a venue hosting a 16-channel speaker system designed by Stephan Moore, Professor, Northwestern University.
About Eunoia Society:
Eunoia Society is JoVia Armstrong, Leslie DeShazor and Damon Warmack. All are accomplished musicians whose compiled artist roster includes Stevie Wonder, El DeBarge, Bob James, Roy Hargrove, Martha Reeves, Res, Pat Metheny, Diane Schuur, Regina Carter, Omar, Les Nubians, Maysa, Rahsaan Patterson, and more. But, before working with these amazing artists, the three were grinding in Detroit where they all met as freelancers. Using processed effects on instruments that we least expect helps them create a unique sound that is different every time they perform, so it’s never the same show twice.
