The exhibition ‘Anne Haack | Stefan Müller’ is the debut exhibition of both artists’ work in Chicago. While of different generations, together their work shares a returning interest in the humanism of painting.
Anne Haack (b. 1987 in Freiburg, DE) lives and works in Cologne and Sicily. Recent exhibitions of Haack’s work include ‘Raw’ (2019) at Kunsthalle Köln in Cologne, ‘How To Charm’ (2016) at Qbox Gallery in Athens, and ‘PACIFICschHALL’ (2017) at The Haffners in Tirol, Austria. Haack received a Master of Arts in Art History degree from Humboldt Universität in Berlin in 2015, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from the Camberwell College of Arts in London in 2012.
Stefan Müller (b. 1971 in Frankfurt am Main, DE) lives and works in Berlin. Recent solo exhibitions of Müller’s work include ‘Stefan Müller’ at Galerie Bärbel Grässlin in Frankfurt am Main, ‘Schlendern im Verweilen’ (2019) at Galerie Nagel+Draxler in Berlin, ‘Der Unzulänglichkeit schönste Konsequenzen’ (2016) at Kunsthalle Giessen in Giessen, and ‘Allerliebste Tante Polly’ (2013) at the Kölnischer Kunstverein in Cologne. Müller attended Frankfurt’s Städelschule between 1996 and 2001.
