OFF THE HIGHWAY LIKE ANOTHER DEER is a video collage that explores the power of sex and death. The film’s creator Sofía Alfaro is a Chicago-based video artist currently attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her practice focuses on teenage girlhood, queer bodies, and human-computer connection.

Presented in partnership with Full Spectrum Features, Chicagoland Shorts Vol. 6 unites the best of documentary, narrative, experimental, video collage, and animated short works from Chicago filmmakers. The sixth volume of this traveling short film anthology features recent works from established and up-and-coming makers alike. The collection embarks on a journey, traveling from the windy city, to Vietnam, to Iran—exploring stories of self-discovery, family, childhood, sex, and death.
