Alix Sloan of Sloan Fine Art has curated this two person exhibition of collages by Dan Barry and Jason Houchen. Barry and Houchen share an obsession with materials and a passion for re-invention. In their works, they deftly combine and collage collected, often vintage, sources with deliberate new marks in a variety of mediums to create fresh new compositions. The resulting works remind us that while we cannot rewrite our history, we can choose how we frame our future.

Victoria Reynolds uses animal flesh as a primary decorative motif, playfully applying its visceral qualities to the surface of her paintings and the surrounding frames. There is an uneasy tension between the understanding of flesh as food, and our self-identification of it; her conflation of desire, mortality, viscerality, and the survival instinct is a powerful source of aesthetic fascination.
