Heather Mekkelson is a sculptor living in Chicago. Her work has been seen in solo exhibitions at 65GRAND, ThreeWalls, 4th Ward Project Space, STANDARD, Medicine Cabinet and Old Gold (all Chicago.) Group exhibition venues include the Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago), The Poor Farm (Manawa, WI), The Figge Art Museum (Davenport, IA) as well as numerous local and national galleries. Mekkelson’s work has been featured in Art Journal, Art21 Magazine, Artforum.com, Artnet, Flavorpill, Hyperallergic, Newcity, Time Out Chicago, and others. She has been the recipient of several fellowships and grants including the 2012 Artadia Award.
