Robert Bills Contemporary is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition Reality Slips. This group exhibition presents new work by Veronica Bruce, Brian McNearney, and Morgan Sims, whose multifarious practices include sculpture, painting, collage, photography, and installation. The work of these three artists explores the unsustainable linearity of assumptions – at the formal, ideological, or semantic levels – of dominant systems of information. Traditional forms of communication fail to cohere. Instead of producing a readable critique of mass culture or mass media, these artists allow for new understandings of already popular images and materials through the creation of vague discordance, momentary associations, and chance resonances.
