Have some Down Time in the Smart Museum galleries and experience a curated nap facilitated by Tricia Hersey, the Nap Bishop and founder of The Nap Ministry.
Napping will be followed by ‘Rest as Resistance and Healing,’ a public reflection and dialogue. Join Mati Engel, MDiv, and Tricia Hersey, MDiv, to explore the themes of rest, healing, and redemption practices at the intersection of theology and the arts. Opening up the conversation will be a screening of Mati’s video work, ‘Performing Authenticity: The Last Redemptive Act.’
Presented in conjunction with the special exhibition ‘Down Time: On the Art of Retreat’ on view through December 15.
Free, but space is limited. Please register in advance. Please bring a yoga mat, pillow, and other items that will make you cozy in the space.
