Adler & Floyd is pleased to present Traveling Pieces Cart: Michael Lopez
Pieces, an ongoing and perpetually tentative collection of sculptural objects made by Michael Lopez are presented on the Traveling Pieces Cart for arrangement by the visitors and residents of Adler & Floyd. Comprised of objects made of wood wrapped with fabric, leather, vinyl, and acrylic to frame artifacts from Lopez’s life, Pieces invite stackable compositions, formal structures, casual leaning, and entirely unknown assemblages, all dependent on a collaborative process with the exhibition’s audience*. This collection of Pieces will operate outside the artist’s usual control, with their form, meaning, and use surrendered to exhibition visitors between November 16-December 7.
*Visitors are not required to participate and will not be pressured to do so.

Michael Lopez is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice skirts around and sometimes focus directly on systems, personal narrative, and craft. He received his MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
