Ways We Make with support from POWER Project presents: Why You Asking All These Questions? — an intergenerational game of ask and tell, that centers the experiences of mother and child.
Ways We Make: Nurturing and Building Creative Communities as Mothers of Color, is a series of popup workshops that celebrates black and brown motherhood and artistic practices, through creative skill building and resource sharing. Each workshop considers alternative narratives that are dedicated to centering stories of intersectionality and the maintenance of creative lifestyle for mothers.
Ways We Make believes that partnering with art organizations within Chicago, building sustainable resource sharing networks, providing professional skill building and sharing diverse art practices and stories of survival is a radicle act of self-preservation and a calculated response to resource distribution. Our workshop series challenge traditional artist spaces, all too often non-representative of women of color, mothers and children, for these reasons Ways We Make: Nurturing and Building Creative Communities as Mothers of Color, encourages mothers to bring their children to events and is committed to providing free access to childcare for each workshop.
