Identity and Youth | CPS Lives

EXPO CHICAGO is pleased to present a very special pre-fair /Dialogues Program with CPS Lives, to take place at Chicago’s Ogden Elementary School on Wednesday, September 11 at 6:00pm. The program will feature a discussion between artists Cecil McDonald Jr. and Melissa Ann Pinney, two residents within the CPS Lives program whose work explores intersections of representation as part of their ongoing projects.

The two artists will discuss their residencies and their results—images that explore identity and youth—that blur the lines between the artistic and the academic. The panel is moderated by Jacqueline Terrassa (Woman’s Board Endowed Chair of Museum Education, Art Institute of Chicago).

The event is free and open to the public on September 11, 2019 at Odgen Elementary School at 24 W. Walton St., Chicago, IL 60610.

CPS Lives, a non-profit founded in 2018, pairs a Chicago-based artists with a Chicago Public School during an academic school year to produce a collaborative project between resident and students.
