About The Event
Giovanna Aguirre Peresson is a Chicago-based conceptual artist, originally from Colombia.
Her exploration of painting began as a small child on the walls of her Italian grandparents’ home.
Her multi-cultural upbringing and the opportunity to live in different countries influences Aguirre’s artistic career and allow her to see the world from different perspectives and socioeconomic realities. Complete immersion in various cultures enriches and develops the concepts on which her artwork is based.
Aguirre Peresson attended Los Andes University in Bogotá, Colombia, where she earned a BFA in Fine Arts and then an MFA in Sculpture in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before relocating to Chicago.
