The National Veterans Art Museum Triennial exhibit “Veteran Movements” investigates veterans’ historic and contemporary contributions to social justice and political movements. It features ephemera such as posters, photos, newspapers and broadsides. In a discussion with artist activist Aaron Hughes, Barry Romo will talk about the featured materials and the histories veteran involvement in social justice movements from Civil Rights to Standing Rock. He will also share stories of veteran movements from the Vietnam Veterans Against the War through Iraq Veterans Against the War.
After the discussion everyone is invited to join Barry Romo in celebrating his birthday at Taqueria Moran 2226 N California Ave, Chicago, IL 60647.
