Have you been feeling freaked out, worried or depressed by the climate and extinction crisis, but unsure what you can do? Extinction Rebellion (XR) has been using the seasoned activist techniques of creative non-violent direct action to bring massive and effective pressure to bear on governments to take meaningful and rapid action—most notably in the UK, where the government just declared a Climate Emergency (with much credit for this going to XR!)
You’ve probably read about this in the news, but did you know we have an XR group right here in Chicago? A number of Chicago artists are involved in this growing group, which is committed to expanding equity and attaining climate justice—so coming to XR’s talk is a great first way to see if this facet of the movement is the right fit for you.
