Elliot Bergman: Polygongs
@ DePaul Art Museum
935 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago, IL 60614
Opening Saturday, August 10th, from 2PM - 4PM
On view through Sunday, August 11th
Elliot Bergman presents a site-specific installation and series of musical performances on the occasion of the exhibition New Age, New Age: Strategies for Survival. This improvisatory performance explores the materiality of sound and vibration and creates a complete sonic environment using sound sculptures made from industrial scrap and architectural remnants and peace bells made from melted guns and bullet casings. Bergman’s large-scale drawings provide a visual score for this immersive sound environment, generating new music that explores the themes found in the exhibition.
