Jul 18th 2019

Kel R. Karpinski, author of the Queer Sailors Zines, will lead a brief talk and workshop on underground radical publications. Kel will provide a brief background on the format of the zine as a vehicle for underground and independent communication especially in queer and marginalized communities, followed by a one and a half hour workshop where you will be able to start creating your own radical piece! Kel and curators from “Out of the Closets and Into the Streets” exhibit will be available to help get you started and on your way to creating an exciting, original zine.

Many supplies and a photocopier will be available at the event space but if there is something specific you would like to use please bring it with you. This event is 18+ due to the nature of some of the queer publications we will be working with. Please RSVP to this event, given the nature of the workshop environment we can accommodate workspace for 20 attendees.
