80 Years Young: A Birthday Party Bash for Hyde Park Art Center

We are thrilled to invite you to celebrate 80 years of the Hyde Park Art Center! Join us at any point in the day to encounter free art making activities, School & Studio drop-in demos, new exhibitions, Creative Wing Open Studios and music provided by WHPK and Central Air, courtesy of Jared Brown.
Visitors can also contribute to our time capsule project 80 Years More. Poets in Residence will be on site facilitating and collecting your wishes for how you wish the Art Center continues pushing community arts forward and how we hope art can enact positive change. We wonder: “How can we celebrate the next 80 years together?”
Program Highlights include:
9AM – NOON: Pancakes with Chicago Breakfast Club
10AM: Hot Mess Yoga with Amber Thomas
10AM – 1PM: Class Demos in Mosaics, Printmaking, Painting, and more!
11AM: Sound Bath with Patricia Walton in Celestial Messages
11AM – 5PM: 80 Years More Time Capsule with Poets in Residence
NOON – 5:30PM: Free beer, drinks, and snacks while supplies last!
1PM: Choose Your Mar Adventure in Creative Wing Studio 6
1-3: Mini-mobile Thrift Shop
2 – 5PM: Open Studios with Jackman Goldwasser Residents
4 – 6PM: Hot Dog Grill-a-Thon
6 – 7PM: Closing Convocation and Community Singing with Angel Bat Dewid
