Printmaking History Lecture + Letterpress Printing Demo
@ Spudnik Press
1821 W Hubbard St, Chicago, IL 60622
Opening Tuesday, December 3rd, from 6:30PM - 8PM
Discover the history of printing and printmaking in Chicago at Spudnik Press! Patti Swanson, a letterpress printer, Spudnik board member, and founder of Chicago for Chicagoans joins us to present a laid-back lecture on printing history. You’ll learn about printmaking’s earliest origins, the role of printmaking in Chicago history, and how the discipline inspired unique forms of architecture Chicago is known for around the world.
After the presentation, in-person attendees can watch and participate in a letterpress printing demonstration to create a one-of-a-kind take-home print made with Spudnik’s historic type collection!
