Grunts Rare Books is proud to present an exhibition of rare monographs, journals and reproductions detailing the work of the celebrated modern German artist, Hans Bellmer. Included in the exhibition are key works from Bellmer’s sweeping oeuvre alongside many Surrealist collaborations.
Opening night, please join us at 7pm as Veilance Press releases their inaugural journal “Issue 0: Eroticism” with a reading by pseudonymous featured author Daniel H. Hoffman.
Veilance Press is a biannual journal edited by Eden Jolie and Els Deitz.
Hans Bellmer (b. 1902, Kattowitz, German Empire – d. 1975, Paris, France) was an artist and a writer best known for his drawings, etchings, photographs, and the life-sized female dolls he produced in the mid-1930s. He was the partner of artist and writer Unica Zürn.
Grunts Rare Books is a bookstore and project space. “Hans Bellmer” is the first of the bookstore’s exhibition program, opening November 22nd and on view until January 17th, 2025.
