Hell and High Water, connects a storm from the artist’s past, with the cultural storms of today. Then back again to the current devastating storms facing our warming planet. Multifaceted in execution, the project contains drawings, paintings, prints, and an installation.
Artist Bio
Colin Fleck Born in San Diego, California, Colin Fleck is a contemporary artist and painter. Raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Colin then attended college in Memphis, TN, where he studied Philosophy and graduated with honors in 2012. Fleck enrolled in an Illustration program at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California the following year. He graduated with honors from Art Center in 2016. That same year, he began exhibiting his artworks in the greater Los Angeles area, participating in many group shows including the Laguna Art Museum’s annual curated art auction, California Cool, and some two-person exhibitions. In 2019, Colin began his MFA program at the San Francisco Art Institute, where he learned and taught until its untimely financial collapse in 2020. Fleck applied to and was accepted by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to finish his studies, moving in August of 2020. He was awarded his MFA in Studio Arts in the spring of 2021. Fleck’s works have been shown and collected domestically and internationally since 2016. Colin currently lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
