On the Verge of Hope
@ Gallery Wrightwood
3325 W Wrightwood Ave, Chicago, IL 60647
Opening Friday, October 11th, from 7PM - 10PM
On view through Sunday, October 27th
Off the Page and Gallery Wrightwood are excited to welcome you to our show involving poetry, artwork and community.
The opening night, October 11th from 7-10 p.m., will be an open house to explore the artwork and poetry installed around this 100 year old church building, as well as meet the artists and poets and connect with others who resonate with this theme. Refreshments will will be available for purchase. This show is family friendly.
Open gallery hours will take place October 20th and 27th from 12-1:30 p.m.
Though the art show and program is being hosted through and in a progressive Christian church, the artwork is not necessarily pro-Christian, the show does not have a goal to promote the Christian faith, and we work to welcome all diverse voices and perspectives that amplify values of care and love.
The space is wheelchair accessible, and 3 gender neutral bathrooms are available, but the bathroom are not ADA. There will be 2 air filters running in the space and masks are provided at the door, but not mandated.
Sarah Peecher + Madeline McConico, alongside artist-in-residence Casey Vstel, are co-curating and organizing this event. Please reach out to them if you have questions about this project at poetryoffthepage@gmail.com or caseyvstelstudio@gmail.com.
