THE Artisanal Roomscape LABORATORY | Museum Tour – Thorne Miniature Rooms
Join us at The GREYSTONE Collective for Indelible ORIGINS | Place + People for an Art + Design tour of the Thorne Miniature Rooms at the Art Institute of Chicago. Clemenstien Love | CL shares her passion for 19th & early-20th century Residential Architecture, Decorative Arts, House Museums and Period Interiors, experienced in miniaiture. “Let your imagination take over on this journey through the Thorne Rooms—miniature.” In the 1930’s Narcissa Niblack Thorne, the creator of the Thorne Rooms, assembled a group of skilled artisans in Chicago to create a series of intricate rooms on the minute scale of 1:12. The interiors present an accurate and inspiring visual history of Interior Design. The result is two parts fantasy, one part history—step into these astonishingly tiny spaces and unleash your imagination.
Indelible ORIGINS | Place + People is supported by Hyde Park Art Center’s Artists Run Chicago Fund as part of Art Design Chicago. Learn more about our public engagement four-part series at https://artdesignchicago.org/location/the-greystone-collective/.
