stevie is a quilt maker, spinster, and community organizer. stevie’s personal work outlines oddities and failures of supposed systems of care through the(ir) body of tensioned fibers. The gestures of their process often ring with notes of loss, grief, and loneliness, though are contained within histories of loving domesticity. As an organizer they are invested in the capacity for collaborative art making to reveal alternate systems of education and support, and connect us to complex histories of crafts. stevie is the founder and co-director of Craft Nite Collective, and is currently co-leading the first cohort of Quilt Church: a quilters club that will culminate in a traditional quilting bee and raffle in early September, 2024. stevie works professionally as a seamstress and in their free time is an amateur birder and loves a good bike ride.
