David Roth: Implied Motion
@ Oliva Gallery
3816 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60647
Opening Friday, June 14th, from 5PM - 9PM
On view through Saturday, July 13th
David Roth’s sculptures are made with materials such as wood, rubber, paint and mysterious found objects. Relics of something you’ve possibly seen but not sure what it was used for. Patterns run in textures that provide a vision of enchantment. David Roth’s sculptures take a pictorial mini story that speaks and shows the viewer drama and wonder, bringing your own meanings.
Stanley Dean Edwards is an American artist known for his abstract paintings. He earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1967. His paintings are in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago and many private collections. In this body of work Edwards paints in the geometric abstraction style. Geometric shapes arranged in bonding streamlined geometry, hard-edged, linear forms with the celebration color.
