Δ Jim Baker
has been playing in and around town and elsewhere for decades, mostly on piano and ARP synthesizer—and mostly as an improviser, teaming with Fred Anderson, Ken Vandermark, Michael Zerang, Mars Williams, Brian Sandstrom, Steve Hunt, Edward Wilkerson, Jr., David Boykin, Rob Mazurek, Guillermo Gregorio, Nicole Mitchell, Tortoise, Fed Lonberg-Holm and many others. For a number of years in the 90s, Baker was the house pianist for the weekly Sunday evening jam sessions at the Velvet Lounge. For most of the last fifteen years, he has been playing most Mondays at Beat Kitchen with free-improvisation group Extraordinary Popular Delusions.

Δ Thymme Jones
was born. Barely. He continued on. Somewhat. Still around. More or less. While still in high school, pianist Thymme Jones was browsing the racks at a Hallmark greeting card store when he noticed a category of greeting cards labeled “CHEER-ACCIDENT.” Since then, six lineups have passed through Jones’ band Cheer-Accident, and it has endured the loss of one of its members. The group, which plays pop songs with off-kilter chord progressions, has released numerous albums and a handful of singles for labels such as Complacency, Pravda, Skin Graft, and, in 2009, Cuneiform.
