About the Exhibition
The opening reception for “This Living Earth — Our Shared Gaia” will take place on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is family-friendly, and admission is free to the public. Join us in celebrating the captivating intersection of nature and art with an evening of visual exploration.
GAIA THEORY & INSPIRATION:
The exhibition delves into the Gaia theory, exploring how the biosphere and the evolution of life contribute to the stability of our planet. The artists draw inspiration from Hortus Botanicus, the botanical garden, creating a captivating fusion of landscapes, plants, water, and animal studies. Allegorical metaphors for our natural world in flux are also prevalent in the exhibited works.
The featured artists, including Sharon Bladholm, Fletcher Hayes, and Kim Laurel, present a diverse range of visual expressions, combining naturalism and abstraction. The artwork incorporates symbolism, pattern, texture, color, form, and light, inviting viewers to contemplate the intricate beauty of our shared Gaia.
CURATORS:
The dynamic team of Kim Laurel and Fletcher Hayes curated the exhibition, bringing together their artistic vision to create a cohesive and thought-provoking experience.
Join us on this artistic journey as we explore the interconnectedness of nature and humanity through the lens of these talented artists. “This Living Earth – Our Shared Gaia” promises to be a visually stunning and intellectually stimulating exhibition.
