Industry of the Ordinary is a Chicago-based collaborative project of Adam Brooks and Mathew Wilson, who for over 20 years have used performance, installation, objects, and interventions to explore and celebrate “ordinariness” and to challenge and elevate the everyday experience into an endeavor worthy of study and veneration.
This exhibition will include a number of works spanning the history of Industry of the Ordinary, as well as a site-specific installation of wall text. For this show, Bert Green Fine Art has published a limited-edition print, “Disclaimer,” which recycles text that has been used repeatedly in multiple Industry of the Ordinary projects. The print is 16 x 20” in an edition of 25; letterpress on handmade paper made from bible pages, and printed with ink made from wine, signed and numbered by the artists.
