@ Pilsen Community Books

Opening Tuesday, April 16th, from 7PM - 8PM
We invite you to an evening “Beyond the Bars” with Renaldo Hudson, Rachel DeWoskin, and Bill Ayers to celebrate “Humans of Life Row”.
“Humans of Life Row” is a special issue of the Chicago literary journal Real Conditions, featuring the work of students from Stateville Correctional Center. Here is art and writing by three-dimensional, complicated human beings, and it is full of humor, sorrow, and longing—for love, freedom, joy, and understanding.
Renaldo Hudson is a leading voice toward the work to demonsterifying formally incarcerated people. He is an activist and artist, and he chairs a board with the aim at ending toxic intellectualism.
Rachel DeWoskin is the award-winning author of five novels and serves on the national steering committee of Writers for Democratic Action (WDA). Visit her at https://racheldewoskin.com/
Bill Ayers is an author, activist, and educator.
