Materialized Visions” highlights the multifaceted ways in which contemporary black artists are working within the genre of figurativism. Through a range of mediums including paint, ceramic, textile, and archival material, this exhibition offers a panoramic view of how these contemporary artists navigate and contribute to the evolving dialogues surrounding black figurative traditions.
The doors to the exhibition reception open at 5:00 p.m. Additionally, a panel discussion, featuring contributions from art historian and curator Ayrika Hall and artist, curator, and cultural worker, Jada-Amina, will begin at 8:00 p.m.
