Curatorial Statement
Memories exist outside of time, often resurfacing in moments least expected. While fleeting, their impact can last a lifetime, depending on how we process them. Dawn is a Headspace, Night is a Feeling is a collection of artworks by local, national, and international artists. Each piece addresses a range of internal emotional conflicts often experienced in solitude. While the selected works are uniquely individual, common themes emerged of processing memory, grief, anxieties, loss, growth, changes, and escapism. The artists explore these topics through varying mediums: Fiber, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, and Video. Dawn is a Headspace, Night is a Feeling aims to unify individuals through a collective feeling of humanity and remind us not to feel so alone in our struggles.
