Your favorite Kinky Holiday Festival is back again! Join us on Sunday, December 10th from 1-6pm, for the very best way to celebrate the holiday season. It will be a fun and festive afternoon with something for all kinksters.
Schedule:
1-2pm: Book Launch and Author Talk with Lucas Hilderbrand and his new book, The Bars Are Ours: Histories and Cultures of Gay Bars in America,1960 and After. This is an amazing book which opens with a chapter on Chicago’s legendary leather spaces in the context of emerging queer spaces in the US. Books available for purchase and signing.
2-3pm: Distance Is Not Material: New Works by Josh Rains & Dan Foley – Exhibit Opening Reception. Inspired by materials in the David Grieger Collection at the Leather Archive & Museum, Distance is Not Material presents an exploration of queer fantasy, desire, and vibrant survival, as much as it is an altar for sexual worship and the commemoration of queer loss. During the 1990s, Houston area artist, erotic illustrator, and drag performer David Grieger (1955-1994) withdrew into seclusion after testing positive for HIV. Over the next few years he produced hundreds of handwritten letters and notes, erotic drawings, photographs and crude image scans with men who responded to the classified ads he placed in convenience store muscle-magazines.
1-6pm: Photos with Kinky Santa! Crawl up on Santa’s lap and explain why you’ve been so naughty this year. Get your annual holiday photo taken alone or with friends. $5 suggested donation.
1-6pm: Nasty Pig Hat Painting. Create your own one-of-a-kind Nasty Pig Cap! Thanks to Full Kit Gear Chicago for providing white Nasty Pig Caps, along with artists who can guide you to add your own colors, designs and flourishes. All supplies provided. $25 suggested donation.
1-6pm: Vendor and Artist Fetish Fair – Shop the best holiday market in town and support our local fetish vendors and artists. They’ll have a great selection of gifts for that special someone (or for yourself!!!) so come ready to shop.
